Our vision and linked bible reference are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.
Our vision statement is:
'Achievement, respect and care in a happy Christian community'.
As a Church of England school, Gospel values also support every aspect of the life of the school.
Our expectation for all, from our linked bible quote is
'Walk straight, act right, tell the truth.' (Psalm 15 v2)
Children say 'Grace' before lunch and will end the day with a prayer. Children participate in an act of worship every day. Whole School worship takes place on a Monday and Thursday. Lower/Upper school singing worship takes place on a Tuesday/Wednesday and on the other day each class has class worship. Friday is a Phase Celebration worship.
Children's involvement in leading worship:
Reception children take part in the Christmas worship in church but all other year groups have the opportunity to lead worship for the whole school and their parents. Year 1 lead their service in the school hall and Years 2-6 lead their services in St Mark's church.
In the upper school, children often lead class worships.

At St Mark’s Primary School we promote fundamental British values throughout our curriculum, Collective Worships, School Council discussions and our emphasis on RE and moral, social, spiritual and cultural development.
