“Achievement, respect and care in a happy, Christian community.”

Welcome

Welcome to St Mark's Church of England Primary School.

We are a family school of 420 pupils and staff and welcome parents and carers into a learning partnership; we invite you to share in the life of our school family. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school directly with any queries you may have.

Our school is set in a most beautiful woodland area on the borders of Bournemouth and Poole. The site is owned and managed by the Talbot Trust. The school was built in 1862 as part of an ambitious and far-sighted project by the Talbot sisters to help the needy of Bournemouth, which culminated in the building of a model village.

The principles of a Church of England School are reflected not only in Religious Education and daily worship, but by applying Christian standards to all aspects of the life and work of the School.

"An outstanding Christian ethos is at the heart of life at this school and is clearly evident in the exemplary behaviour and mutual support shown by pupils and in the care and respect demonstrated by all in its community". (SIAMS 2013 - National Society Statutory Inspection of Anglican & Methodist Schools Report).

We offer wrap-around care for our children and can provide a very busy and popular before and after school provision from 7:30am - 5:30pm (subject to sufficient space and fees). Please see Breakfast Club and After School Club details in the 'School Clubs' section under the 'Parents' tab.

If you would like to know more about our school or visit us please give us a call and make an appointment.

We are very proud of our school and welcome visitors to see us at work.

In September 2017, some comments from parents were:

"My daughter has settled really well at St Mark's and has been very happy there for the last 3 years, and the school day sounds really fun the way she describes it. [...] I'm very happy for my son to be starting reception next week." Mrs H.

"We are extremely happy with the school. Thank you and all of the teachers for your hard work." Mrs W.
