  • Parenting in a digital age: Managing screen time

Tue 28 Feb 2017 Mr Bright

"As a parent I know that technology can be the cause of much stress in the family, but it can be the source of wonder and delight too. So, how do we avoid the battles and enjoy the very best of what tech can offer?"

  • New play trail

Tue 21 Feb 2017 Mr Bright

Contractors have been busy over the holiday installing some new play equipment along the playground perimeter. We are really pleased to add this provision for our children and are really grateful to the S&PA for funding this new resource.

The play trail will be available on a rota basis, so that all children get a turn. This will be in use once the equipment has had a final safety test and inspection.

The Buddy Bench is ready for use now - if children need a friend they can use the bench an others will be there to support them.

  • Choir starts after Easter

Tue 21 Feb 2017 Mr Bright

    Many thanks.

  • Reception PE in the Hall - Spring 2017

Tue 03 Jan 2017 Mr Bright

Reception parents, please note that previous versions of the Spring PE timetables incorrectly noted Reception as being outside on a Monday - this is not the case, they will be in the hall. Apologies for any confusion caused.

Green PE shirts will not be needed until the Summer term.

  • Dr Who competition & raffle winners

Fri 16 Dec 2016 Mr Bright

We have had some outstanding entries for the Dr Who art competition.

Jacqueline Rayner judged the competition and said the following:

This was a very difficult contest to judge, because there is so much that’s good in every single drawing – I loved them all. Congratulations to everyone who entered for showing so much creativity. But I finally decided…

THIRD PLACE: JENSEN P [Prize: £10 voucher]

What a brilliantly inventive monster! Coming up with new monsters for Doctor Who is really difficult, so this is impressive stuff. Those knifed fingers are terrifying! I think the Doctor would beat the Black Tongued Beast in the end because he always wins, but it’d be a close thing…

SECOND PLACE: EMILY S [Prize: £10 voucher]

A lovely, cheerful picture that captures part of the essence of the show by putting the Doctor in space. The drawing really invites you in – as does the Doctor, who seems to be saying ‘Come and have adventures!’ It makes me happy just to look at it.

FIRST PLACE: FLETCHER H [Prize: Signed copy of Twelve Doctors of Christmas]

Where to start?! The picture is beautiful to look at, and so cleverly made. It would be great for those things alone, but oh, that eye! There’s so much magic and mystery in it. It just draws you in, and it feels like a whole story’s been created in a single image. Wonderful stuff.

Well done to all those who took part.

The raffle winner for a signed copy of Magic of the Angels was Matilda O in 4PK.

Proceeds from the raffle purchased a library copy of Magic of the Angel and a 16 book set 'Time Lord Fairy Tales'.
