    After 17 years’ service as Head Teacher here at St Mark’s, Mrs Burn would like to announce to you all that from the beginning of the Spring term 2020 she will be starting her phased retirement, reducing her days to Tuesday to Friday each week. Mr Bright will therefore be acting Headteacher every Monday when we come back after Christmas.

    Thank you to everyone who contributed to the dress up/Mufti day in aid of Children In Need. You all looked fantastic! We are pleased to report we raised a wonderful £335.19 for this cause.
  • TRANSFER TO SECONDARY SCHOOL

    All year 6 pupils should have received a letter to take home regarding transferring to secondary school.  The letters give information concerning your child’s application to a secondary school.  BCP are encouraging all parents to apply on line at: www.bcpcouncil.gov.uk/schooladmissions.  This application needs to be completed by the 31 OCTOBER 2019.

     

    Paper copies of the form are available from the school office.

  • TEAM POINTS AND TEAM CAPTAINS

    Everyone has been excited to start collecting merits and earning the new Team point tokens this term. The Team point token collector tubes are already filling up and it is very close at the moment!

    Our new School Council representatives met this week and one thing they are considering is what the new Team rewards might look like. They will be gathering pupils’ views and taking these back to the next meeting.

    On Thursday, we were thrilled to announce the names of our Year 6 Team Captains for the Autumn Term:

    Red: Natasha M and James P

    Yellow: Sammy M and Hannah P

    Green: Alfie J and Helena M-B

    Blue: Claudia B and Kaitlin A

    Orange: Jessica Y and Archie K

    Purple: Dylan C and Maya F

     

    Well done to all these children! We know that they will set a great example for the rest of their team to follow.

  • BRENSCOMBE

    Well done to all the Year 6 children on their recent residential trip to Brenscombe Outdoor Centre. They had a fantastic four days challenging themselves to achieve fantastic feats: from powerboating to abseiling, climbing to high ropes, everyone had a go and had a great time. They were all fantastic ambassadors for the school. Our thanks also to all the staff who gave up time with their own families to make the trip possible.

    Thank you for all the kind gifts and cards which you have given to staff. Like you, we would like to thank our fantastic staff team for all their kindness, hard work and dedication to our pupils this year. We would also like to thank all of you, the parents, for all your support and encouragement this year. We look forward to seeing you again in the autumn term! Have a happy and safe summer holiday.
  • Food hygiene rating = 5

    Yesterday, we received a routine, unannounced visit from Environmental Health to check the lunchtime kitchen. We are delighted to report that we have again been awarded the top rating of 5.

    Well done and congratulations to our dedicated and hard working kitchen and lunchtime team. 

  • SPORTS DAY POSTPONED

    Due to the forecast of heavy rain overnight and during the early part of the morning, we have unfortunately been forced to postpone Sports Day to 9/7/19.

    We are sorry for any inconvenience caused, as we know people arrange work patterns to fit with this exciting day.
